YES, finally. after a whole year of canadian boredom, i’m finally having some excitement in my life AGAIN.

right now i’m at the vancouver airport waiting for my plane. boarding in about.. 10 mins prolly.

i’ve spent.. most of my day traveling (home -> toronto pearsons airport -> vancouver). a ton of waiting and lotsa extra expenses on overpriced chocolate bars and drinks. i’m EXTREMELY tired but hey, it’s so worth it.

so anyway, i havent been updating in a while cuz i had my finals last week and it was.. %#$@^@#$. yeah. actually it wasnt that bad considering the fact that i didnt study for it at all. i managed to pass my accounting exam and pass accounting. I got a 74 when i thought i was going to be close failing. obviously under estimated myself.. anyway, i think i’m about to board soon, i’ll be back.. sometime ;)

crepes

yummmm

i love crepes! :D

so today, i decided to make crepes for brunch for the family. the batter’s really easy to make.

just mix 2 eggs, 1/2 cup of milk, 1/2 cup of water, 1 cup flour, 2 tablespoons of butter, and a pinch of salt. If you want to sweeten it up, you can add some sugar into it.

so my first attempt to making the crepe was kinda bad. it was thicker in the middle so eek.. =/ but it tasted fine tho. so here’s my tip for this, pour the batter into the middle, then, using your laddle, spread it out in circular motions and then twirl your pan around to achieve that.. perfect circle look that’s even all around. if you’re having problems with spreading it, add a bit of water or milk to your batter. dont add too much tho.

also, make sure you have the filling ready. if you’re doing fruits, cut up the fruits before you start making the crepe. this way, you could just top the fruits on the crepe while it’s in the pan. otherwise you’ll have to take it out, then reheat it later.

when you’re making crepes, make it a little crispier. the toastier the tastier. when you have batter that’s a little thick in the middle, it gives it a bit of.. oomph. so you’ll have a crispy surface but a soft chewy center. if you like, that, go for it ;) [not too thick tho]

now i wish i had those professional crepe pans.. those are TOO cool.

and make sure you have nutella!! nutella is amazing on crepes
